White card models are simple, unrendered physical models made from white or grey card, foam board, or similar materials, used primarily in architecture and interior design to explore form, space, and massing at an early stage of a project. Stripped of colour, texture, and detail, they force the focus onto the fundamentals — proportion, volume, light, and spatial relationships — without the distraction of surface finish or material choices. They are quick and cheap to produce, making them ideal for testing ideas, communicating concepts to clients, and having conversations about a design before committing to anything. There is also something uniquely valuable about a physical object that a screen cannot replicate; you can move around it, hold it, and understand scale and shadow in a way that even the best 3D render struggles to convey.
